TERROR SIGN 2 PLAYERS

On Friday the Toronto Terror announced the signing of 2 players to their roster.

# 9 - QB - GARVEY PETERS - BOSTON COLLEGE

# 54 - LB - RIQUAN LEMON - ARIZONA A&T

Both players will be in the Terror lineup this weekend against Dallas.

Head coach Leo Hill gives his take :

" Garvey is a guy we`ve been watching for a while. He starred in the Northwest Hypothetical League ( NHL) with Kamloops so we think he`s got a good arm ...he will back up Joe .

" Lemon was an outstanding rookie in the Backyard Independent Association ( BIA) with Moose Jaw. We like his upside and he can tackle well. He adds depth and will learn a lot from our veterans like Lewis and Fowler."

This week`s winner of the Wally`s Pickled Weiners player of the week is DE Gilles Aunette, who made 9 tackles and is establishing himself as the top run stopper on an improving defense. Bon appetit Gilles!!

WEEK 7 RECAP

TERROR WEEK 6 :

JERSEY - ROAD WHITE

PANTS - WHITE

HELMETS - BLACK SKULL SHIELD

TERROR - 35   ATLANTA - 14

A controversy in Atlanta, an impromptu bus ride , and a defensive rookie let loose were the stories in a 35-14 Terror win over the Atlanta Flying Fleet in week 6.

On the offensive side , QB Garvey Peters fired 2 TD passes in the first half to set the pace. The first was to Paul Samotti , a 45 yd strike through the heart of the hapless Atlanta D. In the 2nd , with 4:18 left in the quarter and the ball at the Atlanta 13, Garvey rolled left and gingerly feathered a pass to Otto Zaychuck for his 3rd TD of the season. Overall Peters was 17/20 for 188 yds and the 2 TDs.

Mike Simmons , who was nursing a sore back and was carefully involved in the game plan by coach Leo Hill, rushed for a modest 73 yds and found paydirt in the 3rd on a 17 yd scamper , set up by a Quinton Mills block. " We were careful with Mike ..we didn`t want to push him with his bad back..we got a few important games coming up so we need him healthy for sure," said head coach Hill.

The real star of this game was rookie LB Riquan Lemon , who terrorized the Flying Fleet all evening to the tune of 5 sacks and a fumble recovery for a TD. " He was a monster today for us..man what a pickup he`s turning out to be ," added DL Mark Pole. It was a much needed good effort by the defense, who are starting to gel after a rocky start. Mark Pole and Calvin Kennedy added sacks to Lemon`s record total of 5.

The final tally was a pick 6 by Andre Coleman-Berger late in the 4th , for his second TD of the season.

An old fashioned 35-14 ass kicking to an Atlanta team that staged a walkout on Saturday, forcing the Terror to jump on a bus to Auburn, Ala. and play the game there.

Up next , a home tilt in week 7 against the Louisiana Royals.

TERROR WEEK 7 :

JERSEY - GRAY ALT

PANTS - BLACK

HELMETS - PLUM DOUBLE T SKULL

TERROR - 30  LOUISIANA - 17

An Easter Saturday matinee at Rogers Centre results in a 30-17 Terror win over the Louisiana Royals to improve their record to 6-1.

QB Joe Heismann returned to the lineup and went 18/30 for 164 yards , including a 56 yrd bomb to Ivan Gleeson in the 3rd . On 3rd and 10 Gleeson was wide open after the Royals defensive back fell, and Heismann hit him in stride. " Good luck there, although Joe hit me right in the hands and that was it." noted Gleeson. Heismann also dealt an 8 yard TD strike to SJ Brown .

Harvey Harris added another TD to his total with a 2 yd run on a 13 play drive that ate up 9:25 in clock time. It was the Terror ball control that wore out the Royals on the field and the scoreboard.

The Royals were game in the first half , with the Terror holding a slim 13-10 lead at halftime. The D tightened in the second half, and stuffed the Royals running game. " Aunette and Ungero were great , it was 2 yds and a cloud of dust, and we were playing on an artificial surface. " said DC Granny Higgins.

DB Gary Lassiter also had his first interception of the season for the Terror.

Flemming Weggerhoffer booted 3 field goals to clinch the contest.

Up next a visit to Washington to take on the Stars in week 8.
